AP I live in Seattle, WA. I am originally from the Midwest and have lived all over there and the south, but the Pacific Northwest is my favorite by far. I have been here 7+ years and I absolutely love it here!
SA What bike(s) do you own?
AP BMW F700GS, Yamaha WR250R, Yamaha XT250
SA Where is your favorite ride and why?
AP Right now I would have to say the North Cascades FS roads.
SA What or who inspired you to ride a motorcycle?
AP I don’t recall specifically. I started with a Ninja back in college. While I loved that little bike, exclusive street riding didn’t really hold my interest long. I love to be outside, hiking and camping, so dual sport riding was the logical next step. However, I didn’t even know that existed until Long Way Round. I know it’s a cliche’ to say that, but hey, it’s the truth that I owe Ewan and Charlie credit for putting DS riding on my radar. That led me to buy my next bike, a BMW F650GS.
SA Are you a part of a women’s riding group? If so, which one(s)?
AP I’m just now getting more involved with the various groups in this area. Facebook and other Meetup sites have been great help.
SA Why do you ride or want to ride on 2-wheels?
AP I love the immersion in your environment, such as being able to smell the earth and vegetation. I love the freedom, autonomy, and flow. I love the camaraderie of the riding community. And also looking cool. 😉
SA Have you always been driven to explore adventurous activities?
AP Absolutely. The list of odd hobbies is long.
SA What would you like to see more of when it comes to the women’s riding world?
AP How about less pink.
SA If you could ride anywhere next year, where would it be and why?
AP Peru. Machu Picchu!
SA What was your worst day on a motorcycle?
AP Drove my first bike (Ninja) off the lot, rode home 5 miles, took a gravel-covered corner on a country road too slow, and promptly laid it down. I’d owned it about 20 minutes.
SA What age did you learn to ride a motorcycle?
AP Early 20s
SA Favorite post-ride beverage?
AP Ace makes a nice pear or pumpkin cider
SA What is the most important advice you have ever received?
