SA Where do you currently live? Why do you live there?
JO Yorkshire, England. It’s beautiful here, rolling green countryside and loads of sneaky trails to ride!
SA What or who inspired you to ride a motorcycle?
JO From a young age I would go on the back of my dad’s bike, there was always an element of fear mixed with pure excitement and adventure! I found riding horses for a while but would always marvel when I saw a lady bike rider go by. One of the main reasons I was inspired to go for my test was when I made the link between travelling and bikes. All I want to do is the travel the world, so when I realised I could do this on a motorbike that was it, sold!!
SA What bike(s) do you own?
JO G650 XCountry
SA Are you a part of a women’s riding group? If so, which one(s)?
JO I either ride solo or with my boyfriend, Dave
SA Where is your favorite ride and why?
JO I love riding through the Lake District. The roads are all pretty fun and twisty, but the off road lanes are even better!
SA Why do you ride or want to ride on 2-wheels?
JO To me riding is freedom, release, escape and adventure all at the same time. It’s not like being in a car, going along in a little bubble… you’re out there in the elements!
SA Have you always been driven to explore adventurous activities?
JO I have always done quite adventures things.. backpacking, scuba diving license, and I love anything thrilling like sky driving and bungee jumping.
SA What would you like to see more of when it comes to the women’s riding world?
JO I would always say I’d like to see more women riding, but to be honest I think that is taking care of itself! There has been a massive increase in female riders over the last few years, I wrote an article with some facts and figures if you fancy a read:
SA What gets you out of bed in the morning?
JO A mixture of my cat jumping on my face and needing coffee.
SA If you could ride anywhere next year, where would it be and why?
JO I plan on riding round the world as soon as I can afford it…somewhere I’m really excited to go is Mongolia, I think it would be magical.

SA What was your worst day on a motorcycle?
JO Touch wood, I haven’t had a worst day as yet. Maybe one to mention is when we got caught up in the Alps when a hailstorm hit!

SA Funniest thing that ever happened to you while on a ride?
JO When me and my boyfriend got caught right in the middle of a HUGE Harley gang ride out, it was excellent!

JO If I’m cold, coffee, if I’m hot, beer.
SA Name 3 immediate things you would like to accomplish in the world of riding.
JO 1. Plan a camping/riding trip to Scotland 2. Fit my new chain and sprocket myself 3. Get some heated gloves!!
SA Name 3 long-term things you would like to accomplish in the world of riding.
JO 1. Travel the whole world on my bike 2. To be able to fully service and work on my bike on my own, still learning! 3. Learn how to wheelie…:)
